Lisbon/Vienna, 4 June 2020: wahlbeobachtung.org / Election-Watch.EU was invited to contribute to the online training course of VoteDHr. The Portuguese training program for elections, democracy and human rights of the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra took place online due to the Covid-19 situation. Michael Lidauer explained the work of wahlbeobachtung.org in Austria and provided the example of the electoral crisis around the 2016 Presidential elections. Furthermore, the online contribution focused on the European elections. Lastly, the online talk touched upon the impact of Covid-19 on elections in Europe before a discussion was held with the participants. The holding and observation voting by mail in EU Member States was one of the issues discussed, among others.
