Berlin, 20 June 2019: Experts from various European institutions, think tanks and civil society organizations reflected and discussed the growing role of social media channels in election campaigns, especially those related to the European Parliament? In addition to Avaaz, Oxford Institute, Weizenbaum Institute, Democracy Reporting International, also Election-Watch.EU (wahlbeobachtung.org) presented its findings.
The Roundtable, sponsored by the Mercator Foundation focused on the results and methods used on social media during the European Parliament elections.
Armin Rabitsch presented the findings of the Election-Watch.EU Election Assessment Mission (EAM), especially regarding the regulation of social media at EU and member state level.
