Child Protection Policy established

13 Mar , 2026

Vienna, 13 March 2026: Election-Watch.EU is committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of children and young people in all activities we organise or support. Election-Watch.EU has established a Child Protection Policy with clear standards to prevent harm, safeguard personal data, and promote safe participation in events, campaigns, and educational initiatives.

This commitment is particularly relevant when engaging with young and first-time voters, for example in the context of the European Parliament elections, where citizens from the age of 16 can vote in Austria, Belgium, Germany, and Malta. All staff, experts, volunteers, and partners associated with Election-Watch.EU are required to adhere to these principles. We maintain clear reporting mechanisms and preventive safeguards to protect children both online and offline and to ensure that young people can safely participate in democratic life. Any concerns related to child safeguarding can be addressed directly to our designated focal point via email.
