Election.Watch.EU (wahlbeobachtung.org) was invited to train staff members and researchers at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia in the framework of ProCuria, Judicial Training Program for Legal Officers, at the The Hague University of Applied Sciences over a period of two days. The team of Election-Watch.EU (wahlbeobachtung.org) provided a tailor-made workshop, covering an introduction to EDR in the context of election observation, international and regional standards, EDR principles and good practices, the role of courts as well as the potential annulation of elections. The participants were in particular interested in the case of Austria where the Constitutional Court annulled the Presidential Run-off Election in 2018. The workshop allowed the participants to study this case in detail by discussing its legal, electoral and political dimensions. All sessions were evaluated well by the participants. Indonesia will hold its next presidential elections in 2019.
